Wedding Cavo Ventus Santorini — Wedding in Cavo Ventus Santorini

Cavo Ventus is a luxury villa located in Akrotiri on Santorini Island. It is build right on the edge on the caldera and it is nearly invisible from a distance as it has levels visible only from the sea. This part of the island is not as developed as Oia or Imerovigli, and the only thing that one can see from a distance is the 200 year old stone windmill, still standing there at the top level. Once you see it though you simply can not un-see it ! Cavo Ventus was the venue for the wedding of Dennis and Dave in Santorini, the location was set, the date was set, and my self excited as it was one of the weddings that I was looking forward ever since I have booked them! The were both beautiful, and their plan was to arrive with a helicopter to the venue, what could go wrong ? As it turned out we all figured out that day *why the local people have chosen to build a windmill there! To be fair it was one of those summer days when the aegean sea is so windy, and unfortunately, the helicopter thing could not happen, or even dinner outdoors as plates and glasses would not stay on the tables! At the end, it was decided to still have the ceremony hosted there, and the reception to move on Theros wave bar Restaurant in Santorini, that fortunately was available for the night ! Thankfully though, after the initial shock that the couple had, as soon as their wedding entrance happened the day was full of emotion and symbolism as milestone dates should have in our lives.
