Wedding in Santorini Gem | Nicole & Sebastian

Couples portrait at the traditional Santorini Village of Pyrgos

And here is the second day of this beautiful Wedding in Santorini Gem. Do not miss my previous post on this very same wedding the portrait session  I have done with Nicole and Sebastian a day before, also in Santorini.

Nicole and Sebastian met as youngsters and, being high school sweethearts, they had to wait for quite a long time to make their union official. It is no wonder, then, that when it was finally time to go ahead with their wedding, they chose to “go big” and have it in spectacular Santorini, one of the most romantic places in the world. The couple fell in love with the island on a previous holiday there and decided that its tranquil blue skies and glistening white-washed houses perched on the volcanic cliffs above the Aegean Sea would provide an idyllic backdrop for their wedding (something which, as a wedding photographer, I definitely agree with). Their instincts proved to be right as they gathered at The Santorini Gem with their guests for a chic and sophisticated celebration of love. Vows were exchanged on a terrace overlooking the sea, under an arch elegantly adorned with fresh white and orange blooms. As the couple were pronounced “husband and wife”, white doves were released onto the sky in a symbolic and romantic gesture that sent out the message that “love sets you free” and which constituted one of the most impressive and memorable moments of the ceremony. The details of the reception were just as meticulously planned, with the décor focusing on minimal gold touches that added a subtle touch of glamour that did not detract from the majestic scenery. Once the sun set, an illuminated sign spelling the word “LOVE” took center stage at the venue, much to the delight of the guests which did not miss out on the chance to be photographed against it! A beautiful display of fireworks and a group of traditional Greek dancers were finally tasked with getting the party started which, given the joyous spirit of the couple and the guests, did not take long at all.
