Wedding in La Maltese Santorini | Alexandrer & Andriana
A wedding in La Maltese Santorini are undeniably a romantic affair : the backdrop of the volcano and breathtaking sunset promise treasured memories for years to come. The island’s breathtaking scenery is not only all lovers’ dream, but also a wedding photographer’s dream, as the location lends itself to the most stunning pictures with its white limestone walls, blue roofs, small winding alleys and brilliantly blue skies.
Andriana and Alexander traveled to Santorini with family and friends for their special day. The couple and their guests had some time to enjoy their time on the Cycladic island before the wedding, taking boat trips together, swimming in the crystal clear waters and sampling the local delicacies. The wedding itself took place on a perfect autumnal day: while the sun was shining, the temperature was mild and the colors of the fall created an idyllic atmosphere. It was very important for Andriana and Alexandra to follow local tradition and, as such, the groom waited for his bride at St. John the Baptist’s Cathedral, which overlooks the island’s volcano, while she was guided to the church by local musicians playing traditional instruments. The bride showed up donning a gorgeous wedding dress with lace features and a heart-shaped neckline. The couple exchanged their vows while watched by close friends and family in a tender moment that brought tears to everyone’s eyes. The ceremony that followed was an intimate affair, with the couple and their guests enjoying a dinner on a long table overlooking the caldera, in this wedding in La Maltese Hotel . Porcelain and glass vases filled with rich bouquets of hortensias, roses and orchids added a chic, vintage touch to the venue, where the guests, comprised of older and younger generations, all danced and sang by the infinity pool together, well into the night in what was a truly unforgettable experience that I was honored to be a part of.
